What Botox actually does

Botox — and its cousins Dysport and Xeomin — is a small amount of a purified protein placed in specific muscles to soften how certain lines form when you move your face. Most people who ask about it are thinking of the forehead, the vertical lines between the brows, or the creases at the corners of the eyes. It suits someone who wants those softened, not someone who wants their face to stop moving. If you tell me you never want to look surprised or frozen, good — that's my goal too.

What a visit looks like

We talk first. I watch how your face actually moves rather than working from a chart, and we decide together where a little goes a long way. The injections themselves are quick, with a very fine needle, and you stay upright and awake the whole time. You can drive yourself home afterward and get on with your day; I ask you to stay upright for a few hours and skip a hard workout that evening.

I won't promise you a set number of months or a certain result. How your muscles respond is individual, and I plan around your face, not a marketing claim. What I will promise is that I dose carefully and that I would rather do a little and see you again than do too much and chase it.
