Facial balancing is a non-surgical plan that looks at your cheeks, chin, jawline, lips, and under-eyes together. Filler goes where you need structure or volume. Botox or Dysport goes where a muscle is the problem. I’m Kat Chapman, BSN, RN, and I do this at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville, with Dr. G in the room.

Most people come in for one feature. Lips, usually, or the under-eyes. Facial balancing starts from the other end. I look at how your features sit next to each other, from the front and in profile, at rest and while you talk and smile. Some injectors call it facial harmonization. The idea is to change proportions a little in two or three places instead of a lot in one.
Here’s a common example. A soft or set-back chin can make the lips and nose look bigger than they are. For some faces, a little support at the chin does more for the profile than another syringe in the lips. Whether that’s true for you is something I can only tell in person, which is why every plan starts with a free consult.
Non-surgical facial balancing uses two different tools. Filler adds structure or volume. Botox and Dysport relax a muscle. Which one fits an area depends on whether the issue is shape or movement.
| Area | What usually helps | More detail |
|---|---|---|
| Cheeks & midface | HA filler for flattened volume or lost lift | Cheek filler |
| Chin & jawline | HA filler for a recessed chin or a soft jawline | Jawline & chin |
| Lips | HA filler for volume and border, or a Botox lip flip | Lip filler |
| Under-eyes | Small amounts of HA filler, only if you’re a candidate | Under-eye filler |
| Gummy smile | Botox or Dysport to soften how high the upper lip lifts | Botox & Dysport |
| Forehead, 11s, crow’s feet | Botox or Dysport | Botox & Dysport |
Most facial balancing filler goes into the cheeks, chin, and jawline, because those set the frame for everything else. Facial balancing Botox is usually the smaller part of a plan: a gummy smile, a lip flip, or the 11s. Plenty of plans use only one of the two.
We start with a conversation about what bothers you, in your words. Then I tell you what I’d treat first and what I’d leave alone. Dr. G (Dr. Stephen Giordano, DO) is in the room for treatment.
Plans often go in stages. Botox takes 3 to 14 days to settle, and filler swelling takes a few days to go down. I’d rather see your face at the two-week follow-up before adding anything. That follow-up is included, and if something needs adjusting, I adjust it at no charge.
One thing worth knowing: the FDA notes that using fillers together with neuromodulators like Botox hasn’t been evaluated in a controlled clinical study. If your plan uses both, ask me about it at your consult.
Facial balancing cost depends on how many areas your plan includes and how many syringes each one needs, so there’s no single price. Here’s how the pieces are priced on my pricing page:
I don’t publish per-syringe filler dollar amounts, and there’s no set facial balancing package. You get a specific estimate before anything is booked. Financing through Cherry and CareCredit is available for treatment plans. For how neurotoxin pricing works, see the Botox cost breakdown.
It depends on which part of the plan you mean. The FDA says how long a filler lasts depends on the filler material and the area where it’s injected, and that some fillers are absorbed over time, so the treatment may need repeating.
Botox wears off too. MedlinePlus says cosmetic Botox injections for frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet may be repeated every 3 to 4 months, depending on how long the effect lasts. I won’t promise a number for your face. We can talk about touch-up timing at your two-week follow-up.
The dermal fillers on my menu (Juvéderm, Restylane, RHA Collection, and Revanesse Versa) are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. HA filler can usually be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if it needs to come out. That’s a procedure with its own risks, and the FDA notes that non-HA and permanent fillers can be difficult or impossible to remove. Botox can’t be dissolved. It wears off on its own, which is one reason I dose on the light side and add at two weeks if you want more.
Based on the FDA’s dermal filler guidance, plan to wait, or bring it up at your consult before anything is injected, if:
If you want to look like a different person, I’m the wrong injector. Facial rebalancing the way I do it means small changes that still look like you.
The FDA lists bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, itching, and rash as common filler side effects. The most serious risk is filler going into a blood vessel. That’s rare, but it can cause tissue damage, vision problems including blindness, or stroke. Get care right away for unusual pain, vision changes, or skin near the injection site that turns white, gray, or blue. For Botox, MedlinePlus explains the rare risk of the drug spreading beyond where it was injected.
I can’t tell you from a webpage how many syringes or units you need, or exactly how your face will respond. I find that out at the consult and check it at two weeks. Results vary from person to person.
It’s a non-surgical plan that treats your face as a whole. I look at your cheeks, chin, jawline, lips, and under-eyes together, then use hyaluronic acid filler where structure or volume helps and Botox or Dysport where muscle movement is the issue.
Usually filler, sometimes with Botox or Dysport. Filler adds structure in areas like the chin, jawline, and cheeks. Botox or Dysport relaxes a muscle, for example for a gummy smile or a lip flip. Your plan may use one or both.
It depends on how many areas and syringes your plan needs. On my pricing page, all neurotoxins are $13/unit, and dermal filler is priced per syringe and quoted at your free consult. There’s no set package price. You get a specific estimate before anything is booked.
It varies. The FDA says how long filler lasts depends on the filler material and where it’s injected. MedlinePlus says cosmetic Botox injections may be repeated every 3 to 4 months, depending on how long the effect lasts. I check your result at the included two-week follow-up.
Yes. I do facial balancing at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville, easy from Cornelius, Davidson, and the rest of Lake Norman. Call or text (704) 584-9785.
That’s the goal. I make small changes in a few places, dose on the light side, and check the result at two weeks, when I can adjust at no charge. Results vary, and I can’t promise a specific outcome.
