Dr. G's medical oversight

Every treatment I do, at Canvas & Glow or on a mobile visit, is done under Dr. G's medical oversight. I'm the licensed RN doing the injection, following physician-directed protocols. Dr. G has 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics. You can look up my license on the North Carolina Board of Nursing site.

Two ways to get Botox from Mooresville

The first is a studio visit at Canvas & Glow on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville. You come in for the treatment, then come back two weeks later for your included follow-up.

The other is a mobile visit. I offer select in-home appointments and small-group beauty events across Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, and the Lake Norman area. Mobile visits are select, so not every date or address works. Call or text to ask. Mobile visits are standard pricing plus travel, and the travel part is in the quote you get before anything is booked. The details are on my mobile Botox page.

What Botox costs for Mooresville patients

Every neurotoxin I carry is $13 per unit. Living in Mooresville doesn't change that. You pay for the units I use, not a flat fee per area. Typical ranges from my pricing page:

Treatment areaTypical unitsEstimated cost at $13/unit
Forehead lines10 to 20 units$130 to $260
Frown lines (11s)20 to 25 units$260 to $325
Crow's feet10 to 15 units$130 to $195
Brow lift4 to 8 units$52 to $104
Bunny lines4 to 6 units$52 to $78
Lip flip4 to 6 units$52 to $78
Full face40 to 60 units$520 to $780

Those are averages. Your count depends on how strong your muscles are and how much movement you want to keep, and I confirm it at the free consult before anything is injected. Financing through Cherry and CareCredit is available for treatment plans. The full math is in Botox cost in Huntersville.

Comparing a quote to $13 a unit

If you're shopping around, the price format matters as much as the number. A flat price per area charges the same whether your forehead takes 10 units or 20. Per-unit pricing ties the bill to what actually goes in.

So when you get a quote anywhere, ask how many units it includes and what each one costs. Then you can compare it to $13 a unit on equal terms. A low price should also come with two questions: who is injecting, and where did the product come from?

Does it hurt?

Most people call it a quick pinch. I use very fine needles, and the injections take a few minutes. The whole visit usually runs 20 to 30 minutes, and most of that is us talking. If needles make you nervous, tell me. We can slow down and take a breath between areas.

Downtime

There's no real downtime. You can head back to Mooresville and go to work or run errands the same day. A small bump, some redness, or a bruise where the needle went in is possible. I go over aftercare before you leave, so ask then if you have a workout planned.

How long it lasts

You'll usually see a change in the first few days, and it settles at about two weeks. MedlinePlus notes that cosmetic Botox for frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet may be repeated every 3 to 4 months, depending on how long the effect lasts. Your timing may be different, so I won't promise a number. We talk about it at the follow-up, once we can see how your face responded.

Your first visit

We talk first. I watch how your forehead, your 11s, and the corners of your eyes move, at rest and while you talk, and we agree on a plan before I pick up a needle.

I dose on the light side. Adding a few units at two weeks is easy; taking them out isn't possible. Since you're coming from Mooresville, book the two-week follow-up when you book the first visit so both dates are on your calendar. If you have a wedding or photos coming up, count back at least two weeks and book from there.

Questions to ask any injector

Whoever you book with in Mooresville or anywhere else, these are fair questions:

  • Who does the injection, and what's their license? You can check a North Carolina nurse on the NC Board of Nursing site.
  • Is a physician involved, and how?
  • Do you charge per unit or per area?
  • Is the follow-up included, and what does it cost?

The CDC has tracked people who were hurt after injections with counterfeit product or by someone without a valid license. Its page on harmful botulinum toxin injections is worth reading first. My answers: I do the injection under Dr. G's medical oversight, I charge $13 per unit, and the two-week follow-up is included.

Safety and when to hold off

Botox and Dysport are prescription drugs. MedlinePlus summarizes the patient information for onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) and abobotulinumtoxinA (Dysport). Tell me at your consult if:

  • You're pregnant, planning to be, or breastfeeding.
  • You have a condition that affects muscles or nerves, such as myasthenia gravis, ALS, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, or you've had trouble swallowing or breathing.
  • There's swelling or any sign of infection where we'd inject.
  • You've had a side effect from any botulinum toxin product before.

The FDA prescribing information for Botox Cosmetic lists side effects such as eyelid or brow drooping and headache.

What I can't promise

I can't give you a unit count or a guaranteed duration from a webpage. Both depend on your muscles. If a line is still there when your face is fully relaxed, Botox may soften it without erasing it, and I'll tell you that. Want volume in your lips instead of a flip? That's lip filler in Mooresville.
