Dr. G's medical oversight

The price covers treatment done under Dr. G's medical oversight. I'm the licensed RN doing the injection, following physician-directed protocols. Dr. G has 23 years of practice and about 12 years in aesthetics. You can look up my license on the North Carolina Board of Nursing site.

Why the jaw takes more product

Lips are a small area. The jaw runs from the chin back to below the ear on both sides, and building structure along that length takes more filler. That's why my pricing page says lips are often a small amount, while cheeks, jawline, or a full facial balancing plan usually take more.

I don't post a syringe price, because a number without your face attached isn't useful. You get one honest number at the consult.

Ways to keep the number manageable

  • Start with the chin. For some profiles, chin support alone does most of the work.
  • Stage it. Place a conservative amount, check it at two weeks, and add later if you want more.
  • Use financing. Cherry and CareCredit are available for treatment plans.
  • Skip what you don't need. If I don't think an area will help, I'll leave it off the quote.

What's included in the price

Every price covers a free consultation, a plan built for your face, the treatment itself under Dr. G's medical oversight, and a complimentary two-week follow-up. If something needs adjusting at two weeks, I do it at no charge. Coming from Mooresville doesn't change the price. The pricing page has the full menu.

Does it hurt?

Most people feel pressure more than pain. Some fillers contain lidocaine, a numbing medicine, which helps as I go.

How long it lasts

The FDA says how long a filler lasts depends on the filler material and where it's injected, and that absorbable fillers break down over time, so the treatment may need repeating. Since longevity affects what you spend over time, ask me at the consult what's realistic for your face. HA fillers are reversible.

Downtime

Expect some swelling or tenderness for a few days, and a bruise is possible. Most visits run under an hour. Book at least two weeks before an event.

Your first visit

We look at your profile together and talk about what you want and what you'd like to spend. I lay out a chin-only option and a fuller option where it makes sense, with the price for each. You choose, or take time to think. Nothing is injected until you've said yes to the number.

Is jawline filler safe?

The FDA's page on dermal fillers explains the risks. Based on that guidance, wait or bring it up at your consult if:

  • You're under 22. The FDA approves dermal fillers for adults 22 and older.
  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding. The FDA says filler safety is unknown during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Your skin is inflamed or infected where we'd treat, including active acne, a rash, or hives.
  • You have a bleeding disorder, severe allergies or a history of anaphylaxis, or an allergy to lidocaine.
  • You tend to form keloids or raised scars.

Common side effects on the FDA's list are bruising, redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, and itching, and many clear up within days to weeks. The serious one is filler entering a blood vessel. The FDA calls that chance low, but it can cause tissue damage, vision problems including blindness, or stroke. If you notice unusual pain, any change in your vision, or skin near the injection site turning white, gray, or blue, get care right away.

What I can't quote online

I can't give you a total until I've seen your jaw, and I won't promise how long it lasts. If you're weighing the jaw against other areas, see cheek filler in Mooresville or facial balancing in Mooresville, or browse the services page.
